Mothers Day Day 5

After the trauma of yesterday, my head is birrling at the speed in which children can turn from surly teenagers to sweet loving and angelic children. Unfortunately I didn't recover as fast and howled my way through sacrament and the mother's day talks (couldn't help it)and the primary presentation for mothers in relief society (female organization in the church I attend) So here is a moment of sweetness (almost)

day 4

Teenage teething trials for both parents and daughter........ Learning to communicate effectively (or not so effectively) in learning rules are their for our sanity and safety.

day 3

Called to serve, My hubby Sean puts his DIY skills to the test in helping on of my mum's friends in decorating a room for her.

Day 2

A walk by the beach. Hanna and Adam seem engrosed in searching the beach for sea side treasures in our first wander down to Irvine's beach here in Ayrshire, Scotland.

Day 1 19th March 2009
Hanna (who has dyslexia) is taking pride in reading to her little brother, Adam and her dad, leaving me with a large lump in my throat that she feels confident enough now to do so (only a few months ago she would do everything to get out of doing any type of reading, writing or counting.

100 Book Challenge for 2009

At the beginning of the year I started off with gusto on my 100 book challenge for 2009. I have to admit I have cheated a little in the fact I am time challenged and like to multi task so..... I've been listening to audio books as I get on with the rest of my work thus the reason I'm managing to get through so many.

I have noticed however that the books available at our local library have no rating system so its nearly impossible to tell how appropriate the books are to my little ears. Out of the nearly 20 books I've listened to I would say only 3-4 had no swearing in them at all I'm not going to go into violence etc so I think I'll start a book rating system.
